Rich mocha shots

This rich and very decedent dessert is inspired by my love for mocha lattes. Not for the faint hearted!

Serves 10

  • 250ml thickened cream
  • 25g (¼ cup) good quality coffee beans
  • 80g good quality dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 30ml Kahlua
  • Chocolate shavings and extra coffee beans, for decorating

Place cream in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add coffee beans and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to infuse for 10 - 15 minutes.

Strain cream into a clean saucepan and discard beans. Return saucepan to a low heat and add chocolate. Stir constantly until the chocolate has melted and mixture is smooth. Add Kahlua and stir through.

Pour mixture into 10 shot glasses and refrigerate until set. Decorate with chocolate shavings and extra coffee beans.
